Hartmut Horst (born November 20, 1941 in Karlsruhe ; † November 1, 2013 in Hamburg ) was a German internist. In divided Berlin he was an escape helper.

Life

From 1963 Horst studied medicine at the Free University of Berlin . At the beginning of the summer semester 1963 he renoncierte as a fox at that time in West Berlin resident Corps Lusatia Leipzig . There he experienced the effects of the Berlin Wall . “In order to undermine this injustice,” he took part in the Fuchs group in 1963/64 in the construction of two escape tunnels . Corporates took part in the construction of the tunnels , including Berlin Märker , Göttingen Hanoverian , Leipzig Lusatian and the later astronaut Reinhard Furrer . Three people came to West Berlin through the first tunnel and 57 57 people through the tunnel .

Horst did the preliminary physics after the first tunnel was built. With the notes delayed and emotionally “buried”, he had to look for a place to study in the Federal Republic of Germany. The parliamentarian Ernst Lemmer helped him to get a place at the Heidelberg Ruprecht-Karls-Universität , where he did the Physikum . He completed the clinical part of the course at the University of Hamburg . After the state examination (1970) and his license to practice medicine (1971), he worked for a short time as a medical officer in the naval aviation . In 1975 he received his doctorate in Hamburg with an oncological doctoral thesis for Dr. med.

From 1971 to 1979 he was trained as an internist and oncologist at the Hamburg AK St. Georg , he settled in private practice on February 1, 1979 and founded the oncological practice Lerchenfeld in Uhlenhorst with his colleagues Walter Weber and Henryk Nowakowski . In 2007 he left her.

For decades, Horst has been involved in medical professional and professional policy , especially in quality assurance . He was an elected member of the chamber assembly of the Hamburg Medical Association and member of the board of the Professional Association of German Internists (Hamburg) and the Association of Liberal Professions (Hamburg) . He sat on the board of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians for eight years .

Honors

Proposed by the Hamburg member of the Bundestag Antje Blumenthal , Horst was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 2010 . With his commitment he made a significant contribution to the fact that more than 60 people from the former GDR could continue their lives in freedom and independence.
