The Harzer Grenzweg is a signposted and thematically marked hiking trail in the Harz that was set up in 2006 .

course

The path leads through almost 91.4 kilometers along the former, earlier death strip -called inner-German border . Its elevation profile extends from the Oker floodplains for about 1000 meters and opens up part of the approximately 1400 km long nature conservation project Green Belt Germany . It is signposted with a green G for Grenzweg on a white background.

The Harzer Grenzweg begins at the border tower near Rhoden and leads from there to Abbenrode , in order to continue to cross the Brocken . Other places along the way are Braunlage , Sorge , Hohegeiß , Zorge , Walkenried and Bad Sachsa , before it ends in Tettenborn at the Grenzlandmuseum.

At high altitudes, night frosts must be expected again from the second half of August.

The Harzer Grenzweg is included in the Harzer Wanderadel system with 20 stamp points and its own themed badge ; underneath there is also the coffee-horst rest area under the name Grenzweg am Kaffeehorst as No. 18. On the Brocken, the Harzer Grenzweg crosses the Harzer Hexenstieg and the Teufelsstieg
