Hate your neighbor (Original title: Odia il prossimo tuo ) is a spaghetti western from 1968, the Ferdinando Baldi staged. The film was shown for the first time on private television in 2005 in German-speaking countries and was later released on DVD.

action

On behalf of the wealthy landowner Chris Malone, the pistolero Gary Stevens kills the owner of a map of suspected gold reserves, Bill Dakota and his young wife. Brother Ken Dakota sets out to avenge those killed and retrieve the card, which is now in the hands of two outlaws. Gary Stevens is meanwhile on trial; Ken's attempts to leave him there until sentenced fail because Malone's people free Stevens.

However, Ken is able to get hold of the map with the gold finds and now makes Malone an offer to hand it over to those responsible for the murders in exchange for the extradition of those responsible. After Malone was able to cause confusion again for a short time, his actions became known. Ken Dakota overpowers him and delivers him to the sheriff.

criticism

“Conventional spaghetti westerns full of fights and duels, in which the good can only prevail through absolute hardship. A prime example of the sub-genre, which in its heyday presented hardships that were unfamiliar for the time. ”, Writes the lexicon of international films on the occasion of the late German-language performance. In 1968 the Italian critics spoke of a film "which does not differ from the schemes of this genre, but which - at least at the spectacle level - delivers a remarkable result."

On August 30, 2013, the film was shown as part of the Tele-5 series The Worst Films of All Time .
