The HdS - House of Solidarity "Luis Lintner" Onlus is a social cooperative based in Brixen ( South Tyrol ). It was opened in 2002 and is named after the South Tyrolean and missionary Luis Lintner , who died in 2002. The House of Solidarity functions as a social project that houses eco-social organizations and people in difficult circumstances.

assignment

The house offers workspaces to various organizations and institutions: Organization for a world of solidarity (oew), Oikocredit , Afzack, and Otelo - Open Technology Laboratory.

South Tyroleans and people with a migration background who are in an emergency situation and need help, such as: foreign citizens, homeless, released prisoners, mentally ill, socially disadvantaged people, criminal young people and addicts, live in the House of Solidarity.

The House of Solidarity sees its task in satisfying the basic needs of people in need. Coexistence is shaped by people of different generations, cultures, religions and genders, individuals and families. The HdS tries to live solidarity in concrete terms, to promote integration , to experiment with sustainability and to alleviate hardship efficiently and unbureaucratically. It strives for a balance and a peaceful coexistence between different cultures, generations and religions.

particularities

  • The coexistence of people who are stable in life, with people who have difficulties, as well as with organizations, initiatives and others. This is to enable different people to enrich one another.
  • The house of solidarity cannot be clearly classified as a refugee facility , emergency shelter , multi-generation house , cohousing project or coworking space . It combines all of this and takes advantage of the different concepts.
  • The house is used in many ways. In addition to accompanying more than 50 people (mentally or physically ill, released prisoners, refugees, addicts) at the same time, there are also 5 organizations and a venue for numerous events and encounters.
  • The close cooperation between full-time and voluntary employees enables efficiency.
  • The house is financially autonomous. It is financed without public contributions.
  • In the House of Solidarity, new things are constantly being tried out, mistakes made and experiments. What has been learned is constantly passed on to the outside world: to interested parties, politics, society.
  • The House of Solidarity is politically, religiously and ideologically free and unbound.
  • The House of Solidarity offers uncomplicated, unbureaucratic and quick help.
