history

The company was founded in 1946 with the establishment of a regular bus service between Neckartenzlingen and Nürtingen (today's route 188). With the opening of the Neckartenzlingen school center, additional bus routes were added to the surrounding towns from the mid-1970s.

After tendering the bus routes by the district of Esslingen , Haussmann & Bauer was awarded the contract for the independent operation of the line bundle 10 from December 1, 2019 with an annual mileage of 888,000 kilometers. The award includes lines 166, 166a, 186, 187, 188, 188a, 189, 189a, 197 and X19 within the VVS and runs until December 31, 2028. For lines 187, 188, 189 and 193 (now X19 ) Haussmann & Bauer was already a concession holder. Lines 166 (formerly OVK ), 186 (formerly Bader) and 197 (formerly RBS , with Haussmann & Bauer already serving the line as a subcontractor) were added.

The former route 190 (now 808 and 808a) between Aichtal and Neckartenzlingen was awarded to Omnibus Melchinger as part of route bundle 11 . Haussmann & Bauer operates on lines 808 and 808a on behalf of Melchinger.

Vehicle fleet

For decades, the Haussmann & Bauer fleet consisted exclusively of Setra buses in a wide variety of designs for intercity and occasional transport, including articulated buses, 14m and 15m three-axle vehicles and a double-decker (S 228 DT) . In 2010, a Mercedes-Benz vehicle was procured with a Citaro LE . Since 2012, several Lion's City from MAN have been added in the intercity and city bus variant. In 2015 a MAN Lion's Coach touring coach was added to the fleet.
