Head Above Water is the sixth studio album by Canadian singer Avril Lavigne , released worldwide on February 15, 2019.

history

On December 25, 2016, Lavigne announced that she would release a new album in 2017.

In February 2017, she announced that she had signed a contract with BMG Rights Management and promised the album for 2017.

On February 7, 2018, Avril Lavigne wrote on Twitter : “I've started mixing my album and all the pieces are finally coming together. These songs are so close to my heart. Wish me luck as I throw every last drop of myself into these final stages. Time is power. And I needed this time. To live. To write. To go through my ups and downs. "

The album's lead single , Head Above Water , was released on September 21, 2018. On September 27, 2018, the music video for this song was released on Lavigne's YouTube channel. In the United States, the song reached # 2 on the Billboard -charts for Christian songs ( Billboard Hot Christian Songs ) and space 64 of the Billboard Hot 100 .

Another single from the album, Tell Me It's Over , was released in December .

The third single, Dumb Blonde ( featuring Nicki Minaj ), was released in February 2019 and rose to number 92 on the Canadian charts.

The fourth and final single from the album, I Fell in Love with the Devil , was released in June 2019.
