Headhunter is a Danish business thriller from the director Rumle Hammerich from 2009. The basic idea for the film came from the director himself. His Swedish colleague Åke Sandgren built a complete story from it, which Hammerich adapted into a script.
The German subtitle for DVD sales is Die Macht des Geldes .
action
The Copenhagen recruiter Martin Vinge is hired by the aging CEO of a large commercial enterprise (Sieger Family Corporation) to find a successor for him. Vinge hesitates. Since Sieger sen. but the costly surgery of Martin's 8-year-old son Jakob financed as a secret patron, Vinge feels obliged to accept the order out of gratitude. Shortly afterwards, winner's son Daniel also seeks contact with Vinge. He tries to thwart his father's plan because Sieger sen. suffers from progressive dementia and Daniel himself wants to become CEO and then sell the company to German competitors. If Vinge goes public with this inside knowledge, he must fear for his son's life. Therefore, he decides against it, even though he would have been only too happy to do so to damage Daniel's reputation.
Finally, Sieger sen. The hired headhunter Vinge that he was only faking dementia and a heart attack to test how his son would react to possible successors that Vinge should present. Daniel eliminated one of the successor candidates by ruining his reputation. Winner sen. is satisfied with his son, who, as it turned out, knows how to defend himself through intrigues, and can now resign with a clear conscience.
