Healer is a German rock band from Münster .

history

The band was founded in 2014 by the two guitarists Florian Füntmann and Robert Kahr. Füntmann still plays in the band Long Distance Calling and was previously active with Misery Speaks , while Kahr still played in the band Zodiac . The bassist Jonas Hülsermann, the keyboardist Christian Landgraf and the drummer Christian Demter joined the group as further musicians . Landgraf became known during the soccer world championship 2010 as a member of the group Uwu Lena , which reached number four in the German charts with the single Schland o Schland . After the band had been looking for a suitable singer for a long time, they found a singer with experience in the fields of opera and musicals in Michael Scheel .

The similarity of the band logo with the logo of the action figures Masters of the Universe was "consciously accepted" according to Robert Kahr. In October 2015 the band released their self-titled demo , which was voted demo of the month by German magazine Rock Hard . Several concerts followed in the support program of Saga , Uli Jon Roth , Scorpion Child or Spiders as well as appearances at small festivals. Christian Landgraf later left the band and was replaced by Nils Wiese, who previously played with Orden Ogan . Healer were signed by the Osnabrück- based record label Timezone . On December 7, 2018, the band released their debut album Heading for the Storm .

Guitarist Robert Kahr left the band in February 2019 for professional reasons and was replaced by Tobias Kersting, who also plays with Orden Ogan.

style

Healers are usually assigned to the genres Classic Rock or Adult Orientated Rock . Robert Kahr named bands like Whitesnake , Foreigner , Rainbow and Survivor as the greatest influences. Florian Füntmann also listed bands like Journey , Toto and UFO as influences. When it comes to production, Healers want to "sound bold and modern, but with a retro touch".
