Florian Füntmann (born June 2, 1981 in Münster ) is a German guitarist .

Career

Füntmann started playing guitar at the age of eleven. After playing in a school band in the mid-1990s, he founded his first band in 1997. Two years later Füntmann founded the melodic death metal band Misery Speaks , with which he released three studio albums. In 2010, Misery Speaks broke up. In the meantime, Füntmann founded the post-rock / post-metal band Long Distance Calling together with the drummer Janosch Rathmer, who is also active at Misery Speaks , with whom he has released seven studio albums so far.

In 2014 Füntmann founded the classic rock band Healer with musician friends , whose self-titled EP was named demo of the month by the German magazine Rock Hard in January 2016 . In addition, Füntmann was active as a studio musician several times . In December 2018 the debut album was released. His musical preferences include rock music from the 1970s, hard rock and metal . His favorite bands are Pink Floyd , Black Sabbath , Led Zeppelin and Guns N 'Roses .

Florian Füntmann studied musicology and education at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. He also works as a guitar and bass teacher at the El Ritmo music school in Haltern am See .
