Raimund Hedl (born August 31, 1974 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian football goalkeeper . He is under contract as a goalkeeping coach with the Austrian Bundesliga club SK Rapid Wien .
Career
Raimund Hedl played for the Austrian football club SK Rapid Wien until 2011 , where he mainly acted as a substitute goalie behind Helge Payer and became the number 1 goal in Vienna from the 2010/11 season. Hedl was also a replacement for Michael Konsel in the Green-Whites. Raimund Hedl made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga in the 1996/97 season for Rapid Vienna. After leaving the club between 2001 and 2005 and playing at LASK and SV Mattersburg in the meantime , he returned to the Austrian record champions in 2005.
At the end of February 2006, he contracted a kneecap dislocation and was out for the rest of the 2006/07 season .
After Payer's failure before the European Football Championship in 2008 , he was again a substitute goalkeeper at the beginning of the 2008/09 season , this time behind the German Georg Koch . This injured himself and so Hedl played 7 championship games, but lost his place in the fighting team to the younger Andreas Lukse . Since 2010 he has been number one at Rapid.
On May 16, 2011, Peter Schöttel was presented as the new Rapid head coach. Raimund Hedl ended his career as a goalkeeper on June 1, 2011 and became a goalkeeper coach at SK Rapid Vienna .
