The Hegemann Group is a German industrial and service group. It operates nationwide in the construction, industry and tourism sectors.

history

The origin of the group of companies lies in the construction industry. In 1914, August Reiners founded the construction company of the same name specializing in civil engineering work in Bremen . From 1973 to 2006 the Hegemann Group was headed by Detlef Hegemann , the grandson of August Reiners.

After the political change in the GDR , the Hegemann Group expanded into the new federal states. In 1992 the group of companies acquired the Wolgaster Peene-Werft and four companies of the ELBO-Bau-Gruppe, which arose from former housing construction combines. Of these four companies, only August Reiners Bauunternehmung GmbH exists today, formerly August Reiners Bauunternehmung und Naßbaggerei GmbH Wolgast. Until 1994 she held a 30 percent stake in Stralsund's Volkswerft Stralsund , which she then sold to Bremer Vulkan . In 2007, the August Reiners Bauunternehmung und Naßbaggerei GmbH Wolgast merged with the branches Schälerbau Berlin GmbH, August Reiners Bauunternehmung GmbH and Alfred Kunz Untertagebau Munich as part of a strategic realignment of the construction activities of the Hegemann Group.

That same year, the Hegemann group of the Danish company Group acquired AP Moller-Maersk , the Stralsund Volkswerft GmbH, which was in 2010 transferred to new owners. In the same year, Detlef Hegemann Rolandwerft GmbH & Co. KG was sold to the Bremen Lürssen group.

The sole shareholders of the Hegemann Group today are the two non-profit foundations of Detlef and Ursula Hegemann.
