Heiko Volz (born September 27, 1961 in Calw ) is a German marketing and media consultant, university lecturer, journalist, author, TV presenter and voice actor .

Life

Heiko Volz grew up in the Black Forest and on the Filder . In 1980 he began an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk at Ehapa-Verlag and from 1985 to 1991 completed part-time studies in business advertising and marketing at the Württemberg Administration and Business Academy (VWA) in Stuttgart. He worked at Ehapa until 1993. Initially as a marketing assistant, product manager up to marketing manager and head of new products. He worked as a publishing director for three years at OZ Verlag in Stuttgart . before moving to Jahreszeiten Verlag . In 1992, with the German adaptation of the American World Wrestling Federation magazine, Volz was the pioneer of TV fanzines , the accompanying magazines for TV series, in German-speaking countries . Here he worked closely with the TV channels ARD, TELE 5, RTL, Pro7, Sat1 and MTV. With magazines on Beverly Hills 90210, Good Times, Bad Times and other titles, he created a new magazine segment. In 1993 he was a founding member, editor-in-chief and marketing director of Dino Entertainment and, from 1998, the publishing director of Prinz Verlage in Stuttgart and Frankfurt. Among other publications, he was involved in Asterix, Lucky Luke, Mickey Mouse, Star Wars, The Simpsons, Garfield, Ritter Rost, the horse magazine Wendy and the city magazine Prinz .

Since 2002 he has worked as a freelance PR and marketing consultant , media maker , moderator, copywriter , editor , journalist and author .

In 1995, Volz started working for Lang-Film Medienproduktion as a freelancer and copywriter in the conception of advertising, industrial and educational films. As an author in 1999 he was known when he after the death of Äffle and Pferdle -Erfinders Armin Lang , the stories of the two SWR continued writing -Figuren. Since then, Volz has also been responsible for marketing and public relations for the two cult figures. In the meantime, almost 1800 of his Äffle & Pferdle stories and sayings have been published in books, calendars and on the Internet. As early as 1987, Volz developed with Armin Lang jr. an Äffle & Pferdle comic published in 1990 by Ehapa Verlag in collaboration with the author and illustrator Otto Benz. With the appearance of the comic in 1990, Volz started doing press work for Äffle & Pferdle. Since 2010 he has also been the online editor of the Äffle & Pferdle homepage and fan page on Facebook and the dubbing voice of Äffle in the Swabian dialect . In 2016, Volz was able to use a social media campaign to win Ritter Sport over to develop an Äffle & Pferdle oat and banana chocolate. The special edition was sold out in a few weeks. In 2017, after 16 years, Volz and the team from Lang-Film Medienproduktion Äffle & Pferdle succeeded in getting it back on TV regularly, in the state show Baden-Württemberg of the SWR . Since 2017, Volz has been singing the oat and banana blues from Äffle & Pferdle live at concerts with Volker Lang and the Swabian rock band Muggabatschr. Together with the Äffle & Pferdle Fanclub, Volz succeeded in 2019 after a three-year discussion with the city of Stuttgart, the state and the federal government that Äffle & Pferdle can also decorate traffic lights as traffic light symbols in Stuttgart.

In 2012, Volz was involved in the conception of the magazine “Mein Ländle - the most beautiful sides of Baden-Württemberg” and has been responsible for its column “Äffle und Pferdle” ever since. He wrote articles for the magazines hi doc - the mhplus magazine for children (issues 01–03 / 2011) and “Ritter Rost - the musical magazine against iron deficiency” (2008). From 2015 to 2018 he moderated the weekly television program “Wir in Stuttgart” at Regio TV and worked on its editorial staff.

In 2017, Volz translated the children's book “The Adventures of Pauli Broccoli” by Birgit Kühn from American into German. In 2018, Volz will be the German dubbing voice of Fernando Avocado, the Mexican friend of the children's book and cartoon character Pauli Broccoli. He also takes care of press work in Germany.

In 2017, Volz played the reporter Robert Frei in a guest role in the movie “Laible und Frisch - Do goht dr Doig”.

Since 2018, Volz has been a member of the talk group of the pop and drinking culture talk "Comics & Beer". This monthly event, in which four experts discuss comics and beer, takes place live in front of an audience alternately in Stuttgart and Böblingen.

Heiko Volz lives and works in Stuttgart. His publications appear at SWR, Thienemann Esslinger Verlag, Theiss Verlag, Groh Verlag, Blue Ocean Entertainment Verlag and Terzio / Carlsen Verlag (as co-author 2008: Story in the magazine "Ritter Rost"; 2014: Das große Ritter Rost book).

He taught at a Kung Fu school in Leonberg and Stuttgart, at the youth art school in Fellbach and has been a lecturer at the Akademie der media in Stuttgart for moderation, conversation and rhetoric since 2007 .

Volz has been working as press spokesman, reporter and moderator for the International Trickfim Festival Stuttgart since 2019.

In 2020, Heiko Volz and Volker Lang will leave Lang Film-Medienproduktion together due to quarrels with the license holder. As the dubbing voices of Äffle & Pferdle, they continue to perform live.

As a freelance editor and reporter, Volz has been producing TV reports for the television stations at 7aktuell.de - The News and Media Service since 2020. Since 2020 he has been press spokesman for Neckar-Käpt'n , the Neckar-Personen-Schiffahrt Berta Epple. As a performer, he also embodies the Neckar captain in a captain's oufit in live performances.
