Heimatærde [ ˈhaɪ̯mataɛʁdə ] (proper spelling HEIMATÆRDE) is a German Medieval - Electro - Band , which was founded in 2004 by DJ Ash .
history
Originally intended as a pure studio project, Heimatærde was launched in 2004 by DJ Ash . After the first EP Ich hab die Nacht Traumet, which was released in the same year via Infacted Recordings , the first album Gotteskrieger followed in 2005, which was distributed abroad via Metropolis Records . After Ash initially refused to be live on stage because the music should be in the foreground, Heimatærde had his first live performance at WGT 2007. In January 2018 Heimataerde announced that brother Henry von Kent officially supported the band on drums from now on, after he had already played a few live performances in 2017. With sister Johanna Dikaja, another musician joined the band at the end of 2018. After Heimatærde parted ways with their previous label Out of Line , the band founded their own label, Fully Packed Records, in November 2019 .
style
The band, which is assigned to the electro scene, combines, according to their singer Ash Dark, electro and electronic body music with medieval instruments. Classical pieces such as Mr. Mannelig or Ich hab die Nacht däumet were interpreted in the debut album , but samples were also interspersed. The use of samples and their integration into the music runs like a red thread through Heimatærde's discography. For example, the following works are used:
- Van Helsing at Deus lo vult (Divine Warriors)
- Army of Darkness , Hui Buh - The Castle Ghost and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at Murderer (God's Warrior)
- 08/15 Second part as well as the marching song "It's so nice to be a soldier" ( Herms Niel , 1937) from Musikhænde ( I dreamed the night )
- Revelation 23 to The Revelation (God's Warriors ) and Lifeless Bodies ( Cadaver Obedience )
Guest singer
Joint creations with different music artists are not uncommon at Heimatærde. For example, Anna-Maria Straatmann from Massiv in Mensch lent her voice for the maxi CD Unter der Linden . The musical cooperation with the bands ASP , X-Fusion , Winterstahl, Die in Winter and Xotox played an important role on the album Kadavergehorsam . X-Fusion had already participated in Gotteskrieger . Take on life, give life Denis Schober ( Solitary Experiments ) and Henrik Iversen ( Sonic Decoy ) acted as guest singers on two songs. Further collaborations took place with Martin Engler ( Mono Inc. ) and Joachim Witt . Ash reserves the right to compose, write and mix in full.
