Heinrich Arnold

Heinrich Martin Arnold (born March 28, 1971 in Ingolstadt ) is a German manager and CEO of Detecon International. Before that, he was head of Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-Labs) , the research and development center of Deutsche Telekom AG with locations in Germany , the USA and Israel . Since September 2016, Arnold has been Chief Executive Detecon Digital with the task of expanding Telekom's external digital business through Detecon, the consulting arm of Deutsche Telekom.

Career

education

After graduating from Willibald-Gymnasium (Eichstätt) , Heinrich Arnold began studying technical physics at the Technical University of Munich in 1991 and graduated in 1994.

He then moved to Stanford University and completed his Master of Science in Engineering in 1995. From 1999 to 2001 Heinrich Arnold completed a second Master in Business Research at the Technical University of Munich and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , Sloan School of Management as Best of year. At the same time, Arnold received his doctorate in economics and management from the Technical University of Munich. The research topic of his dissertation was "Technology shocks - origins, managerial responses, and firm performance in the manufacturing industry".

Career

Mercer Management Consulting (1995 - 2003)

After graduating from Stanford University, Arnold joined the management consultancy Mercer Management Consulting (now: Oliver Wyman ) as a senior associate . Among other things, he worked for telecommunications, industrial and logistics customer projects in the areas of innovation management, operational efficiency, market entry as well as carve-outs and privatizations.

Medigen (1999-2000)

During a sabbatical from Mercer Management Consulting between 1999 and 2000, Arnold was one of the founding members of Medigen, which is now a publicly traded company based in Taipei and specializes in biopharmaceutical drugs.

Bicoll Group (2000-2004)

In 2000 Arnold co-founded the biotech company Bicoll Group, based in Shanghai and Munich. The company specializes in the development of new drugs based on natural and chemical additives. As a shareholder and Head of Affairs, he was responsible for investor relations, business development, finance and product development.

Deutsche Telekom (2004 - 2019)

Heinrich Arnold was part of the founding team of the Telekom Innovation Center in 2004 (renamed to today's Telekom Innovation Laboratories in 2005). His duties as Vice President Innovation Development from 2004 to 2010 included the review of long-term technology and market trends in research with a focus on exploration, technology scouting and customer-centric innovation . In 2008 he was involved in the expansion of Telekom Innovation Laboratories to Los Altos and Israel . Heinrich Arnold was responsible for the application-oriented R&D activities within Telekom Laboratories . His focus was on the development of pre-products and system components and was therefore responsible, among other things, for a payment solution called mWallet and a cloud marketplace. In addition, products in the area of ​​radio access network and data center virtualization were also part of his activities.

In 2010 Arnold led the realignment of Telekom Laboratories on more application and implementation-oriented topics. In the course of this realignment, he took over the management of Telekom Innovation Laboratories . During this period, the foundations for three new business units in the area of cloud computing , connected home and mobile payment were laid for and within Deutsche Telekom. In addition, further focus areas were established with the topics of health , energy , M2M and media . As part of its R&D activities, Telekom Innovation Laboratories also hold numerous patents, especially in the telecommunications sector .

Heinrich Arnold was also responsible for cross-industrial projects for the digital industry, for example in 2012 in the Port of Hamburg together with industrial partners such as SAP , Adidas , Claas , Osram , Siemens , Kuka and Trumpf .

Heinrich Arnold was significantly involved in a total of 20 business start-ups (spin-offs) that arose from the projects of the Telekom Innovation Laboratories. These include Trust2Core, SureNow, Litedesk, Motionlogic, Benocs, Soundcall, Zimory, Bitplaces, Schaltzeit and the digital cloud-based telecommunications service immmr (2016).
