Heinrich Johann Eichler (born September 29, 1876 in Bardenfleth ; † June 30, 1932 in Oldenburg (Oldb) ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ). From 1931 to 1932 he was briefly President of the Oldenburg State Parliament .

Life

Eichler was born the son of a border guard in Bardenfleth. After attending elementary school, he initially worked as a cashier at the official treasury and in the land registry of the city of Oldenburg, and in 1899 moved to the main cash desk. In the twenties he ran twice as a candidate for the Oldenburg City Council: in November 1924 for the National Socialist Freedom Party and three years later as a member of the NSDAP local group in Oldenburg, to which Eichler had belonged since it was founded on April 6, 1925. Both candidacies failed, and only the third attempt on November 9, 1930 brought success. As councilor, he then worked in various sports committees in the city. From 1928 to 1932 he was a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament.

As a devoted follower of Gauleiter Carl Röver , Eichler was not at the center of the state parliament debates, but instead devoted himself to party work as the NSDAP district treasurer for the Weser-Ems district . His candidacy for the office of President of the State Parliament, which probably sprang from a sudden inspiration by Rover, and his election on the same day, June 10, 1931, surprised even his own party comrades. A serious illness finally forced him to give up his mandate prematurely in June 1932 to Georg Joel .
