Heinrich Faltermeier (born November 16, 1909 in Munich , † July 12, 1999 in Piesenkam , Waakirchen municipality ) was a German sculptor .

Life

After an apprenticeship in goldsmithing and years of traveling to Spain, among others, Faltermeier studied from 1936 to 1943 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Joseph Wackerle , Ernst Buschor and Hans Jantzen . He worked according to the Nazi concept of art , created war memorials (soldier with hand grenade, Bad Neuenahr , 1939) and also exhibited in the Great German Art Exhibition of 1943. After a long stay in fascist Spain, he returned to Munich in 1960. From 1966 to 1999 he lived in Piesenkam.

Faltermeier's preferred working materials as a sculptor were bronze , marble and wood .
