Heinrich Forer

Heinrich Forer (born November 2, 1913 in Mühlen in Taufers , † October 5, 1997 in Bozen -Gries) was a South Tyrolean priest and auxiliary bishop .

Life

Forer was the son of the pastor Karl Forer and the sister of the former diocesan administrator of Brixen , Walburga Mutschlechner.

In 1933 he finished high school at the Vincentinum with high school diploma . He was ordained a priest on July 10, 1938 in Taufers. He later became a cooperator in Franzensfeste , Stilfes , Cortina d'Ampezzo and Bruneck . In 1947 he was the secretary of the Catholic Action and later also co-founder of the KVW and its first spiritual assistant. In 1951 he was appointed dean of Cortina d'Ampezzo and on February 11 of the same year titular bishop of Memphis and auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Trento . He was ordained bishop on April 8th by Adeodato Giovanni Piazza in Cortina d'Ampezzo. He became auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Bozen-Brixen in 1964. Before his death, he was appointed episcopal vicar by Bishop Gargitter . He attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

In his life he also wrote songs such as the Jagdhauslied and a 130-stanza cabin poem.
