Heinrich Gulden (born March 13, 1730 in Spalt , † July 26, 1793 in Eichstätt ) was a German theologian and professor in Eichstätt.

Life

Guldens, Kastner was in a gap. When he came to Eichstätt as Hofkammerrath and Hofkastner, Heinrich attended the Jesuit grammar school there , where he distinguished himself not only in his studies but also in music. At the age of 15 he joined the Jesuit order. After completing his studies, he was a physics and mathematics teacher at the Jesuit college in Landsberg am Lech , then a theology teacher in Rottweil , Konstanz and Freiburg im Breisgau . After the abolition of the order in 1773, the exjesuit worked from 1774 as a professor for moral theology at the Collegium Willibaldinum in Eichstätt.

Heinrich Gulden was also interested in science. For example, with a thesis on the theory of screws , he was awarded a prize by the Societas Jablonoviana , the Jablonowskische Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften zu Leipzig . He also wrote a treatise on the properties of mercury ; for this he received a prize from the Churbaier Academy of Sciences in 1776 and became a full member of the philosophical classes of this learned society. From 1779 to 1783 he was pastor of Möning in the Upper Palatinate, then two years as pastor of Seligenporten . In 1785 he became a canon of the new parish "Our Lady" in Eichstätt and a titular clergyman. Here, too, he was active in the natural sciences. For example, he provided Professor Friedrich Carl Gottlob Hirsching in Erlangen with an essay on the "Kalkberge an der Altmühl " and a description of the Altmühl and its fish according to Marcus Élieser Bloch and Carl for the 2nd volume of his "General Archive for Ethnology and Regional Studies" from Linnaeus .

He bequeathed his mineral and coin collection to his friend, the Eichstätter Hofrat Barth.
