List of places in the Strohgäu
In the list of places in Strohgäu in the are Strohgäu lying cities and towns associated hamlets external castles, farms and with its districts, deserted villages listed along with some attractions. The districts belonging to the Strohgäu from outside the municipalities ( Bietigheim-Bissingen , Vaihingen , Eberdingen and Stuttgart ) are also included.
Location and demarcation :
The Strohgäu is largely in the Ludwigsburg district and affects the Stuttgart district near Stammheim and Weilimdorf and the Böblingen district near Leonberg . In the east, the Strohgäu is bounded by the Neckar valley, in the south by the Keuperhöhen around Stuttgart and Leonberg. In the west it borders on the Heckengäu, which starts from the Strudelbachtal , and in the north on the Enztal . Of the Strudelbach communities Eberdingen and Enzweihingen , only the former markings of Hochdorf an der Enz or Pulverdingen and Leinfelden are included. In the north-east and south-west, the traditional borders of the Strohgau are not clearly defined. Although there is no natural limit to the areas of Bietigheim to the right of the Enz and to the markings of Freiberg am Neckar , Ingersheim , Benningen and Aldingen , these loess plains are usually not included and Ludwigsburg often only includes the former markings of Eglosheim and Pflugfelden . In the south-west Höfingen and Gebersheim are undisputedly added, in Leonberg, Eltingen and especially in Rutesheim the opinions are again divided.
Settlement development :
Because of wars , epidemics and urban concentration processes numerous settlements in Strohgäu are from the Middle Ages departed . As a result of the regional reforms in the 1970s, the number of independent municipalities was again reduced to twelve through incorporations. These are shown in bold in the table, incorporated places like traditional districts in italics and, deviating from the alphabet, placed under their main town.
