history

The company was founded in 1907 by Heinrich Hamker as a margarine factory and steam dairy in Lintorf (Han.). From then on, it developed into a national provider.

In both world wars, production had to be stopped due to the inadequate raw material situation, but a successful new start was made afterwards. After the Second World War, the machine park and all of the technical systems were renewed and extensive new buildings were built. In addition, an own vehicle fleet was built up. Tank trucks and heavy goods vehicles as well as lighter vehicles (approx. 100 in total) were available for the ongoing transport of raw materials and finished goods. The vegetable oils required for this were mainly obtained from Hamburg oil mills. By 1960 the plant was already employing 130 workers and employees as well as 30 people in the vehicle fleet.

In 1959, Hamker entered the market with delicatessen products. In 1991 Hamker set up a branch in Rogätz in Saxony-Anhalt . In 2004, the Belgian Vandemoortele Group took over the mayonnaise and sauce divisions . Hamker has since been a leading supplier in the UK, France and Belgium. The largest and most modern dressing plant in Europe is located at the headquarters in Lintorf.

In 2007 the family-run company celebrated its 100th anniversary.

In December 2007, 100% of the shares in Heinrich Hamker Lebensmittelwerke were acquired by Heiner Kamps through his International Food Retail Capital Plc. taken over and merged with Homann Feinkost GmbH from Dissen . Of the once more than 500 jobs in Lintorf, only 250 remained. This food company also included the Nordsee fast-food restaurant chain and the Nadler delicatessen brand . HK-Food was bought by the Theo Müller ( Müller Milch ) group of companies in 2010 .

In April 2017 it became known that the Theo Müller group of companies is planning to relocate production at the various locations in Bad Essen-Lintorf, Dissen, Bottrop and Floh-Seligenthal to Leppersdorf in Saxony as a joint location by 2020 . On April 27, 2018, the Müller Group announced that it would now continue production at the existing locations.
