Heinrich Heer (born September 17, 1900 in Málaga , † December 23, 1968 in Glarus , reformed , resident in Riedern and Glarus) was a Swiss politician (DP) .

biography

Heinrich Heer was born on September 17, 1900 in Málaga as the son of the merchant Fridolin Heer. The graduate of a canton school in Zurich took a degree in law at the universities of Zurich , Leipzig , Geneva and Bern , which he completed in 1924 with a doctorate . After acquiring the advocacy patent in 1926, Heer initially worked as a clerk at the Cantonal Court in Glarus from 1927 to 1931 , and then worked as a lawyer.

Heinrich Heer married Sophie Elsbeth, the daughter of the chief forester Wilhelm Oertli, in 1929 . He died on December 23, 1968, three months after reaching the age of 68 in Glarus.

Political career

Heinrich Heer, a member of the Democratic and Workers' Party in Glarus, was a member of the Glarus government council between 1940 and 1956 as head of the education and police department . In addition, he served from 1947 to 1950 as state governor , subsequently to 1956 as a bailiff . In addition, Heer represented the canton in the Council of States from 1953 to 1968 , in which he initially belonged to none and later to the democratic parliamentary group.

In addition, he served as President of the Supreme Court from 1956 to 1963 and as President of the Glarner Kantonalbank from 1956 to 1968 . In 1952, during Heinrich Heer's tenure as Landammann, the 600th anniversary of "Glarus in the Confederation" took place .
