Heinrich Kemper (born February 25, 1888 in Siegen ; † August 23, 1962 ) in Trier was a German politician ( center , later CDU ).

Life and work

Kemper had been working as a freelance textile merchant in Trier since 1923 .

Political party

Kemper joined the Center Party in 1924 and was chairman of the Center District Association in Trier from 1928 to 1933. After the Second World War he was one of the founders of the Christian Democratic Party (CDP) in Trier, from which the Rhineland-Palatinate regional association of the CDU later emerged. In 1947 he was elected chairman of the CDU district association in Trier.

MP

Kemper was from 1924 to 1933 council member of the city of Trier and from 1930 to 1933 a member of the Prussian state parliament . He was a member of the German Bundestag from its first election in 1949 to 1957. He represented the constituency of Trier in parliament . From March 20, 1952 to 1957, he was chairman of the Bundestag committee on border issues, after having been its deputy chairman since 1949.

Public offices

Kemper served as Lord Mayor of Trier from 1946 to 1949. For his services to the city of Trier, he was awarded the seal of honor of the city of Trier in 1958.
