Heinrich Rönneburg (born January 8, 1887 in Braunschweig ; † September 1, 1949 in Wolfenbüttel ) was a German educator , ministerial official and politician ( DDP , DStP, later CDU ).

Life and work

Rönneburg was born the son of a carpenter. After attending the community school, he completed the teachers' seminar in Braunschweig from 1901 to 1907. In 1911 he passed the state examination as a teacher and then worked as a primary school teacher in Braunschweig until 1918. In addition, he was involved in the teachers 'association movement and in 1917 founded the Braunschweig state civil servants' organization, which he headed as first chairman until 1919. Rönneburg had done military service as a one-year volunteer in 1907/08 , most recently as Vice Sergeant in the Reserve. He took part in the First World War as a soldier , was seriously wounded near Stallupönen in August 1914 and was then awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class . After spending 15 months in a hospital, he was released from military service.

Rönneburg took part in the founding of the Braunschweigischen small farmers and tenants association, whose board he belonged until 1922. He had been State Commissioner for East Prussia Aid since 1929 and, in 1930 and again from 1931 to 1933, he was the deputy of the Reich Commissioner for East Aid and for the suburban settlement, most recently as Ministerial Director . From October 1944 to March 1945 he was imprisoned by the Gestapo .

Political party

Rönneburg joined the DDP in 1918, from which the German State Party (DStP) emerged in 1930. From 1918 to 1928 he was deputy state chairman of the DDP in Braunschweig and also chairman of the party's agricultural committee at the national level. He worked in the association to defend against anti-Semitism .

After the Second World War he joined the CDU.

MP

Rönneburg was a city ​​councilor in Braunschweig from 1918 to 1920 . From 1918 to 1924 and 1927/28 he was a member of the state parliament in Braunschweig and from 1918 to 1922 chairman of the DDP parliamentary group. In the Reichstag election in May 1924 he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he belonged until 1930. From September 1 to December 10, 1948 he was a member of the Parliamentary Council .

Public offices

Rönneburg served from June 26, 1919 to June 22, 1920 as Minister of State for Schools and from May 23, 1922 to December 24, 1924 as Minister of State for Interior, Police and Economy in the state governments of the Free State of Braunschweig led by Prime Minister Heinrich Jasper . From 1928 to 1930 he was district administrator of the Franzburg-Barth district . In 1945 he was appointed district administrator in the Wolfenbüttel district , where he served as senior district director in 1946/47.
