Heinrich Sebastian von Reppert (born February 21, 1718 in Coburg ; † July 13, 1800 in Taschenberg) was a Prussian lieutenant general , chief of the body carbine regiment and heir to Klein-Karlowitz (Grottkau district).

Life

origin

His parents were lawyer Kaspar Christian Reppert (1686–1742) and his wife Anna Martha Kröner († 1728). His three brothers became officers: Christian Gottfried († 1778), lieutenant colonel in the cuirassier regiment "von Seidlitz", Friedrich Johann August (1720–1795), colonel and commander of the hussar regiment "von Köhler", knight of the order Pour le Mérite and Johann Daniel Ludwig (1724–1800), lieutenant and district administrator of the Daber district in Pomerania.

Military career

Reppert first went to the council school and in autumn 1733 switched to the Casimirianum grammar school in Coburg . He then embarked on a military career and came in 1738 as a cuirassier in the cuirassier regiment "von Waldow" . With the regiment he took part in the last revue for King Friedrich Wilhelm I at Wehlau in 1739 . On January 7, 1740 he was sent to publicity as a sergeant with two riders for a year .

During the First Silesian War Reppert took part in the battle of Chotusitz . In the battle he carried the standard of the 4th Squadron. At the beginning of 1743 he was on the road again on advertising. On July 9, 1743, he was promoted to the cornet . In the Second Silesian War he fought at the siege of Prague, was wounded near Hohenfriedberg and fought near Kesselsdorf and in combat with Katholisch Hennersdorf .

After the war he was promoted to lieutenant on September 8, 1751. In the Seven Years' War he fought in Lobositz , Kolin , Roßbach , Leuthen and Hochkirch where he was wounded. He was present at the siege of Prague, Dresden, Schweidnitz and Olomouc as well as in the battle near Leutmannsdorf. At that time he was on August 28, 1758 staff assistant master and on January 4, 1759 Rittmeister and company commander in the cuirassier regiment No. 8. On June 29, 1763 he was still major with a patent from July 9, 1763.

After the war Reppert received the order Pour le Mérite in 1774, on May 22, 1775 he became lieutenant colonel and as such he fought in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . Then on October 6, 1779 he was commander of the cuirassier regiment No. 8 and in the same year he received the Silesian Inkolat . On May 20, 1782, he was promoted to colonel and on July 13, 1784, he became chief of Cuirassier Regiment No. 11 . On May 20, 1785 he was appointed major general and on August 25, 1790 also the lieutenant general. During the Kościuszko uprising in Poland, he was assigned to the Knobelsdorff corps. But on April 25, 1794, he received permission to retire to his Gut Karlowitz. On December 29, 1794 he received his resignation and 1200 thalers pension. He died on July 13, 1800 in Taschenberg and was buried in the garden of Gut Klein-Karlowitz.

Reppert married Sophie Elisabeth von Goldfuß (June 22, 1723 - July 18, 1799) from Brieg on April 5, 1780 . Her parents were the captain Karl Magnus von Goldfus († April 7, 1733) and his wife Maria Katharina von Kindler († 1759) from the house of Groß Schottke. She married Hermann Friedrich von Radecke on November 26, 1754 († July 5, 1776). She inherited the Niklasdorf estate near Strehlen from her brother Karl Sylvius von Goldfus († 1765).
