Heinrich Weber (physicist)

Heinrich Weber (born January 1, 1839 in Leipzig , † May 5, 1928 in Braunschweig ) was a German physicist .

Life

Heinrich Weber, son of the physiologist Ernst Heinrich Weber , younger brother of physician Theodor Weber , turned to the put- graduate studies of natural sciences , physics and mathematics at the Georg-August University of Göttingen to 1863 he was at the University of Leipzig to Dr. phil. PhD .

Heinrich Weber completed his habilitation two years later as a private lecturer in physics in Göttingen, and in the following year he was given the professorship for this subject at the Herzogliche Technische Hochschule Carolo-Wilhelmina , which he held until his retirement in 1906.

Heinrich Weber, who was appointed Privy Councilor and who among other things published a sketch of his uncle Wilhelm Eduard Weber's life , published in 1893, was accepted as a full member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina on January 8, 1901 ( matriculation no. 3145 ) . He died in 1928 in Braunschweig, four months after he had turned 89.
