Heinz Schwarz (politician, 1921)

Heinz Schwarz (born May 7, 1921 in Zeitz ; † January 24, 2016 ) was a German politician and economic and party functionary ( SED ) in the GDR . From 1971 to 1983 he was General Director of VEB Chemiekombinat Bitterfeld .

Life

Schwarz, the son of a miner , completed vocational training as a commercial clerk after attending primary school from 1935 to 1938 . He worked in the profession until 1941 and was drafted into the armed forces for military service in February 1941 during the Second World War . In August 1944 he was taken prisoner by the Soviets as a corporal . He had to work in a mine shaft in Krasnyj Lutsch , and in early 1949 he started at the Antifa School 2040 in Ogre near Riga .

In August 1949 he was able to return to Zeitz and joined the SED in December 1949. In 1949/50 he was a personal assistant to the 1st secretary of the SED regional leadership in Saxony-Anhalt , Bernard Koenen , from March 1950 press officer of the management in the Leuna works and editor-in-chief of the company newspaper "Leuna-Echo". In 1950/51 he was an instructor in the organization department of the SED state leadership in Saxony-Anhalt, responsible for the guidance and control of the cultural directors of large companies. In 1951 he was first acting 1st secretary and from March 1951 to March 1952 2nd secretary of the SED district leadership Leunawerke. He then acted from March 1952 to June 1953 as secretary of the SED company party organization (BPO) in the VEB Elektrochemisches Kombinat Bitterfeld and from June 1953 to September 1957 as first secretary of the SED district leadership in the VEB Leuna-Werke "Walter Ulbricht" (LWWU).

After attending the party college "Karl Marx" from 1957 to 1958, Schwarz completed studies at the industrial institute of the Technical University of Leuna-Merseburg from 1958 to 1960 , which he graduated with a degree in engineering and economics . Subsequently, from 1960 to 1963 he was deputy chairman of the council of the Halle district and chairman of the district economic council as well as temporarily also a member of the SED district leadership and the office of the SED district leadership Halle. From January 1963 to May 1971 he was secretary for economics and head of the office for industry and construction of the SED district leadership in Halle.

From January 1963 ( VI. Party Congress ) to June 1971 he was a candidate for the Central Committee of the SED . At the 8th party congress of the SED from June 15 to 19, 1971, he was not reelected as a candidate for the Central Committee. However, in May 1971 he became general director of VEB Chemiekombinat Bitterfeld and held this position until December 1983. At the same time he was a member of the secretariat of the SED district leadership of the chemical combine. From January 1984 to December 1989 he was director of the International industry organization for organic specialty products INTERCHIM the CMEA in the administration Halle (Saale) .

Most recently he worked from April 1990 to June 1991 as an employee in the Halle (Saale) branch of the Treuhandanstalt . Schwarz died at the age of 94 and was buried in the Laurentiusfriedhof Halle .
