life and work

Hendrik Jan Vierdag was the youngest of eight siblings. He learned the profession of organ builder from his father. After his death in 1946 he set up his own organ building workshop. A big setback was the fire in his workshop in 1963. Thanks to the rapid reconstruction, he was able to build a workshop building on a larger scale. This made it possible for him to manufacture larger instruments from now on. He concentrated his work primarily on the area of the Dutch Reformed Church . In 1981 he closed his company for reasons of age and orders. During his active time he built over 130 organs.
