coat of arms
Blazon : "Divided from gold over blue in a wavy cut, inside a red megalithic grave with two carrying stones and a large capstone, below a golden water mill wheel."
The megalithic grave refers to the prehistoric megalithic graves, the wave division and the blue of the lower half of the shield refers to the watercourse of the Nordradde, the mill wheel to the Bruneforth water mill . The colors red and gold are the colors of the coat of arms of the Imperial Abbey of Corvey, which Stavern came into possession of in 1037, and also those of the Principality of Münster, to whose Niederstift the place belonged from 1252 to the Imperial Deputation Main Council in 1803. The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Ulf-Dietrich Korn from Münster.
