Johan Henrik Ludvig "Henki" Kolstad (born February 3, 1915 in Kristiania , † July 14, 2008 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian actor and director . He was known for several generations in Norway for all-round acting in film and theater. Especially in the age of television, he reached attention so among other things, the role of "Skomaker Andersen" in the Christmas series ( juleserien ) Skomakergata 1979, as well as for his performances in three Norwegian Olsen Gang - films ( remake ) in the role as Kongen (King) and Master Hansen .

Career

Kolstad made his debut in 1928 as a 13-year-old actor in the Nationaltheatret in the play 18 år (18 years), and had his adult debut «voksendebut» in 1936 at Centralteatret . In the course of his long career at the theater, he worked at Trøndelag Teater , Det Nye Teater , Edderkoppen teater , Centralteatret and from 1964 to 1986 at the Nationaltheatret. In addition to his speaking theater roles, he also appeared there as a singer in operettas , such as B. in the performance "Sommer in Tirol" ( Sommer i Tyrol ) and in the musical My Fair Lady . Kolstad also had the role of Alfred P. Dolittle in My Fair Lady in 1959 , which was also the first Norwegian musical performance at the Folketeatret (People's Theater) in Oslo . A highlight at Kolstad's theater were the farce performances from 1989 to 1990 at Den spanske flue (The Spanish Fly) at the ABC Theater , where he played the mustard manufacturer Ludwig Klinke. The play has been broadcast at Christmas on Norwegian television NRK several times since 1990 , most recently in 2007. Besides these performances, Kolstad had also played other important roles at Fjernsynsteatret (television theater ) and at Nationaltheatret (national theater ). His last performance as a theater employee was the performance at the Nationaltheatret of the play Death of a Salesman (En commercial traveler død) with Kolstad in the lead role as Willy Loman . After that he officially retired and only played sporadically in the theater. He had his very last stage appearance in 1993 in the play Det lykkelige valg as Doktor Onsø .

Movie and TV

Kolstad made his film debut in 1930 at the age of 14 in the Danish film Eskimo (The White God) from 1930 and got his first leading role as Petter Gran in Vi gifter oss in 1951 . Kolstad was known in Norway for its extensive involvement in successful Norwegian film and television productions.

One of his most famous television productions was the Norwegian family Christmas series Jul i Skomakergata (1979), where he played the leading role of Jens Andersen Petrus. This series was repeated several times, most recently in 2003, and it also contributed to Kolstad becoming known among younger audiences in his homeland. In the 1950s, Henki Kolstad and Inger Marie Andersen were a very popular film couple, as they appeared together in several films such as Vi gifter oss . He also worked in many other well-known Norwegian and Scandinavian films, such as 1958 in the films Pastor Jarman kommer hjem and De dødes tjern (1958), 1963 in Vildanden and 1965 in Skjær i sjøen . Kolstad is also known in Norway for its involvement in the remakes of the originally Danish Olsen Gang . He played in the Norwegian Olsen Gang - film series, with three films with twice its role as Kongen (King) and once as Mester Hansen (Hansen Master).

He made his television debut in 1966 in the television theater play Kontoristene . Henki Kolstad's family lived in Oslo. He married his wife Else Kolstad on July 8, 1938 and they were married together for 76 years. Together they had a son, film director Morten Kolstad , and two daughters. Henki Kolstad was the older brother of the actor and singer Lasse Kolstad . He was the son of Andreas Kolstad (1883–1959) and Johanne (1884–1966). Kolstad died on Monday 14 July 2008 in Diakonhjemmet Hospital in Oslo at the age of 93.
