Henning Rosenau

Henning Rosenau (born October 3, 1964 in Ebstorf ) is a German legal scholar . He was a university professor and holder of the chair for German, European and international criminal and criminal procedural law , medical and biological law at the University of Augsburg . He was also the managing director and co-founder of the Institute for Bio, Health and Medical Law (IBMG), Director of the Institute for All Criminal Law and Director of the Research Center for Turkish Law. At the same time he was the ombudsman for German-Turkish relations at the University of Augsburg and Vice President for international affairs and research at the University of Augsburg. He also teaches criminal law at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul. Rosenau has been a professor at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg since the 2015/16 winter semester .

Life

Rosenau studied from the 1986/87 winter semester, initially in Göttingen and Freiburg i. Brsg. Law . During his studies he worked as a research assistant to Professor Bernd Schünemann (Freiburg) and Professor Hans-Ludwig Schreiber (Göttingen). In 1992 he passed the first state examination in Celle. This was followed by employment as a presidential assistant at the University of Göttingen. Rosenau then completed his legal clerkship, including positions at the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture and the Consulate General in Seattle. In 1996 he passed the 2nd state examination, in the same year he was awarded with the work " Fatal shots on behalf of the state - The criminal responsibility of border soldiers for the use of firearms on the German-German border" (2nd edition Nomos Verlag Baden-Baden, 1998) PhD with Hans-Ludwig Schreiber .

From 2005 to March 2006, Rosenau was a criminal judge at the Hamburg-Barmbek District Court . Before that, he had held a chair at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen for one semester . On April 1, 2006, he was appointed full professor at the University of Augsburg. In 2007 he was visiting Chūō University in Tokyo for a research stay, in 2009, 2013 and 2017 he was visiting professor at Waseda University in Tokyo and in 2010 he was a lecturer at the Faculté de Droit of the University of Jean Moulin Lyon 3. In 2012 Rosenau turned down a professorship for criminal and criminal procedural law at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. From October 1, 2013 to September 30, 2015, he was Vice President for International Affairs and Research at the University of Augsburg. He has been teaching at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg since October 1, 2015. There he holds the chair for criminal law, criminal procedural law and medical law. At the same time he is the managing director of the “Interdisciplinary Scientific Center Medicine - Ethics - Law”.

Memberships

Rosenau has been a full member of the Permanent Organ Transplantation Commission of the German Medical Association since 2006 , Deputy Chairman of the Gene Diagnostics Commission (GEKO) since 2009 and its Chairman since 2016. Since 2012 he has been a member of the board of the “Doctors and Lawyers” working group of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies ( AWMF ). He is a member of the Academy for Ethics in Medicine (AEM) and numerous other legal societies.
