Henrik Forsberg

Hans Henrik Forsberg (last name [ fɔʂbærj ], born February 16, 1967 in Borlänge ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier and biathlete .

Henrik Forsberg began his career as a cross-country skier. The Bergeforsen SK athlete first competed in a 30-kilometer race in Falun in 1988 and immediately finished fifth. Three years later he won in the same place over the same distance for the first and only time. By 1999 he had competed in more than 70 World Cup races, placing in the top ten almost 30 times and making it onto the podium five times. He also won four FIS races. At his first Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991 in Val di Fiemme , he finished eighth in the 30-kilometer race. Four years later in Thunder Baywas Forsberg's best placing fifth over the same distance. He had his most World Championship appearances with four races in 1997 in Trondheim , the best result was ninth place again over 30 kilometers. At his last World Cup in 1999 in Ramsau , he reached 20th place over the 50-kilometer distance. The Swede contested his last cross-country race in 2001.

In 1999 Forsberg switched from cross-country skiing to biathlon and has competed in the biathlon world cup since the 1999/2000 season . His first race was a sprint in Pokljuka , in which he finished 84th. He won his first points in 2000 as 27th in a sprint in Antholz . In 2001 in Oberhof , he finished fourth in a pursuit race, his first result in the top ten. Twice, in Lake Placid as third and in Osrblie as second, each in sprint races, he took placings on the podium. The Swede started three times at major events. 2000 at the Biathlon World Championships at Holmenkollen in Oslo , where he was 79th in the individual and 63rd in the sprint, and again in 2001 at a Biathlon World Cup. In Pokljuka Forsberg finished 24th in the individual, 45th in the sprint and 51st in the pursuit, as well as 16th with the relay. The highlight of Forsberg's biathlon career was the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City . In the individual he reached 47th place, 63rd place in the sprint and 14th with the relay. In 2002 he ended his career and is now taking on official functions in the Swedish association. He has been married to Magdalena Forsberg since 1996 and lives in Bergeforsen . You have two children.
