Henrik Toft Hansen (born December 18, 1986 in Skive ) is a Danish handball player .

Career

The circle player , who is 2.00 meters tall and weighs 105 kilograms , was under contract with AG København from summer 2011 , with whom he won the Danish championship in 2012. After the AGK went bankrupt in the summer of 2012, he signed a contract with Bjerringbro-Silkeborg . Before Toft Hansen played at AGK, he worked for Mors-Thy Håndbold and AaB Håndbold . In the summer of 2013, Henrik Toft Hansen moved to the German Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg , which he left after the 2014/15 season and joined league rivals SG Flensburg-Handewitt . With Flensburg he won the German championship in 2018. He has been under contract with the French club Paris Saint-Germain since the 2018/19 season . With Paris he won the French championship in 2019 and 2020.

For the Danish national team , he has played 124 international matches so far , in which he scored 215 goals. He was in the extended squad for the 2011 World Cup . A year later he took part in the 2012 European Championship , which Denmark won. He was runner-up at the 2013 World Cup. He won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . He became world champion at the 2019 World Cup.

Private

Henrik Toft Hansen is in a relationship with the Swedish handball player Ulrika Toft Hansen , with whom he has a son. He has two brothers and two sisters. His brother René plays handball for the Hungarian first division club KC Veszprém , Allan (* 1996) for the Danish first division club Mors-Thy Håndbold . His sister Majbritt (* 1993) plays in the Danish league at Aarhus United , the youngest, Jeanette (* 2000), in the youth department. With the exception of left-handed Jeanette, all are circular.
