Heorhyj Kitscha ( Ukrainian Георгий Кіча ; born September 15, 1990 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Steaua Bucharest in the Romanian ice hockey league since 2017 .

Career

Heorhyj Kitscha began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown Kiev , where he first played in the youth division of HK Sokil Kiev . In 2005/06 he played his first adult games in the club's second team, which was then playing in the Vysschaya League , the second-highest Belarusian ice hockey league . Then changed his clubs every year, where he was mainly active for teams from Kiev. But he also played again and again for the HK Bilyj Bars Bila Zerkwa and one year each with Sibirskja Snaiperi from Novosibirsk in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League and the HK Levy Lviv from western Ukraine. In the short season 2015 he became Ukrainian champion with the HK ATEK Kiev . After spending the 2016/17 season at HK Kremenchuk , he moved to Steaua Bucharest in the Romanian ice hockey league .

International

Heorhyj Kitscha played at the U18 World Championships in 2006 , 2007 and 2008 as well as the U20 World Championships in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 for his home country in Division I.

He made his debut in the men's national team in February 2016 at the age of 25 in qualifying for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang . Although the Ukrainians in the first qualifying round short of Japan failed, he was also the tournament in Group B of Division I World Championship 2016 nominated and reached with his team to promotion to the Group A Division I, in which he at the World Cup in 2017 played .
