Herbert Knorr (* 1952 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German literary scholar and author .

Life

Herbert Knorr worked as a banker from 1969 to 1973 in his hometown of Gelsenkirchen and in Berlin . In 1976 he made up his Abitur on the second path of education . This was followed by various internships at theaters (for example at Holk Freytag in Moers ), collaboration in newspapers and magazines and first literary publications in anthologies . From 1976 to 1982 he completed a teaching degree in German and history at the Mercator University in Duisburg . Until 1986 he was also a research assistant there in the field of German studies. In 1988 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on experiment and play on Arthur Schnitzler's narrative work .

From 1988 to 1994 Knorr was a research assistant at the Gelsenkirchener Authors eV group, working on the establishment of an unemployed theater , radio play projects and the development of literary series and projects. Since 1994 he has been head of the Westphalian Literature Office in Unna and responsible for the promotion of authors, reading and literature in North Rhine-Westphalia . He works on projects with authors such as Raoul Schrott , Katja Lange-Müller , Burkhard Spinnen , Kathrin Schmidt and others.

Herbert Knorr is and was also a member of numerous literary juries, including:
