Herbert Lackner (* 1950 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist.

Life

Lackner studied political science and journalism. He initially worked as a freelancer at Radio Vienna . From 1975 he worked as a journalist in the SPÖ headquarters . From 1980 as domestic politics editor in the Arbeiter-Zeitung , where he became deputy editor-in-chief in 1983. In 1988 Lackner became head of the internal policy department at profil and was editor-in-chief there from 1992. At the end of February 2015 he retired at Profil, followed by Eva Linsinger as head of domestic affairs .

Lackner held lectureships at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Innsbruck from 2001 to 2003 and teaches at the University of Applied Sciences for Journalism in Vienna.
