Herbert Tachezi
Herbert Tachezi (born February 12, 1930 in Wiener Neustadt ; † December 9, 2016 in Klosterneuburg ) was an Austrian organist , harpsichord player and composer .
biography
Herbert Tachezi was already active as a choir director and organist during his school days. After graduating from high school in 1948, he studied at the Vienna Music Academy ( music education , piano , organ with Alois Forer , composition with Alfred Uhl and Karl Schiske , improvisation) and at the University of Vienna (German studies). He passed the final exams in composition in 1953 and organ in 1955, both with distinction. He also took harpsichord lessons with Fritz Neumeyer in Freiburg im Breisgau .
From 1952 to 1967 Tachezi was a music teacher at Viennese high schools. From 1952 Tachezi performed as an organist, harpsichordist and fortepiano specialist throughout Europe and overseas. Tachezi was the first organist of the Hofmusikkapelle Vienna , juror at international competitions, lecturer at international courses, and from 1963 to 2010 harpsichordist and organist of the Concentus Musicus Vienna, founded by Nikolaus Harnoncourt .
Tachezi has taught at the University of Music in Vienna since 1958 . In 1967 he received an L1 professorship there. From 1972 Tachezi held an extraordinary professorship and from 1977 to 1998 a full professorship for composition theory and organ.
The cellist Herwig Tachezi and the violinist Christian Tachezi are his sons. The cellist Wilfried Tachezi is his brother.
Herbert Tachezi was buried in the Weidlinger Friedhof in Klosterneuburg.
