Here and There is the second live album and the fourteenth official album by the British singer and composer Elton John .

The title of this album refers to two different concerts in Europe and North America. The inclusion of Hereford took place in the Royal Festival Hall in London in the summer of 1974, There was in autumn in Madison Square Garden in New York during the North American tour in 1974 recorded.

background

Before John could publish his music under the name of his own production company Rocket Record Company, he had to fulfill the contractual obligations towards his previous contract partner Dick James Music (DJM). Since John had not recorded a live album since 1970 despite the large number of his appearances, it made sense for him to conclude his collaboration with DJM with Here and There without another studio album.

Because of a winning bet, John Lennon played together with John in a concert at Madison Square Garden . At that time Lennon was rarely seen performing. As early as 1975, John released the title I Saw Her Standing There on the B-side of the hit single Philadelphia Freedom from this recording . All three titles presented together with John Lennon are included on John's single CD Made in England from 1995 , in addition to the new release of Here and There as a double CD in 1995 and 1996 .

The text for the album cover of the original LP was written by the music journalist Paul Gambaccini. This transcript was also part of the booklet accompanying the new CD release in 1995.
