content
Hercules has a young man, Odysseus, with him, with whom he tries to arrange the succession of Oedipus among his quarreling sons. After tasting the potion of oblivion, Hercules falls for the Amazon queen Omphale. After the night of love, she has her husbands embalmed, which the Argonauts, led by Odysseus, can just save him from. In the meantime, however, Eteocles, one of Oedipus 'sons, has extended the dispute with his brother Polynices to war and taken Hercules' wife Jole hostage. Hercules manages to get to the city through an underground river, where the brothers have gathered for a duel. He can also defeat the troops of General Amphiraos, which were sent to the city by Polyneikos, and thus helps to restore order.
criticism
"(The film) escapes (...) boredom, one waits with open mouth to see whether the bullshit that has been experienced to date can even be exceeded."
"Staged as a great spectacle that offers something to naive astonishment and a lot to unintentional laughter."
Remarks
In the US, the film was marketed by Joseph E. Levine , who had pushed the previous film to an incredible success.
