Hermann Alexander Schlögl (* 1932 in Landshut ) is a German actor and Egyptologist .

Life

Schlögl was born as the youngest son of Alois Schlögl . One of his brothers was the historian Waldemar Schlögl . After graduating from the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich , he studied literature and theater studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich , at the same time taking acting lessons and taking the stage maturity test. He then worked as an actor, including at the Städtische Bühne Ulm under Kurt Hübner (including Marquis Posa in " Don Carlos ", directed by Kurt Hübner and Bassanio in " The Merchant of Venice ", directed by Peter Zadek ), at the Hanseatic City Theater Lübeck and the Städtische Bühnen Wuppertal under Arno Wüstenhöfer (including Templar in “ Nathan the Wise ”, director: Ulrich Brecht , Willem in Else Lasker-Schüler'sDie Wupper ”, director: Hans Bauer , Wachtmeister Werner in “ Minna von Barnhelm ”, director : Günter Ballhausen , title role in Lenz / Brecht: Hofmeister, director: Carl Maria Weber , Kasimir in "Kasimir und Caroline", director: Ernst Seiltgen , Jepichodow in "Kirschgarten", director: Bruno Hübner ). In Zurich Schlögl took a degree in Egyptology , archeology and ancient history, and graduated in 1976 as lic. phil. at the University of Basel with the work "The God on the Blossom" (Geneva 1977). He directed the art exhibition “Gift of the Nile” of the Swiss Bank Association, which was shown in various museums in Switzerland for two years. In 1979 he did his doctorate under Erik Hornung on the subject of "The God Taten according to Texts and Images of the New Kingdom" (Friborg / Göttingen 1980). In the 1980 winter semester he was appointed to the University of Freiburg (Switzerland) as successor to Werner Vycichl , where he taught until the end of the 2000 summer semester.

Schlögl worked at the " Lexicon of Egyptology " and wrote numerous articles for exhibition catalogs and magazines. He lives in Freiburg im Breisgau .
