Hermann Alexander Alfons von Bojanowski (born September 11, 1805 in Strasbourg , † July 10, 1868 in Breslau ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and most recently in command of the fortress of Breslau.

Life

origin

His parents were August Alexander Bojanowski (* 1762; † February 13, 1827) and his wife, Sophie Charlotte Luise Countess von Maltzahn (* December 19, 1766; † February 15, 1845). His father was chamberlain and heir to Nitsche and Rabaczyn in Poland. His brother Gustav Alfred Kasimir Xaver (1787–1856) was a Prussian major general .

Career

He received his education in the Gymnasium in Breslau and then went on foot on November 22, 1822 as a fusilier in the 1st Guard Regiment . There he was on May 13, 1824 portepee ensign , May 17, 1825 then aggregated as a second lieutenant and there on April 15, 1830. From 1838 to 1839 he was assigned to the rifle factory in Potsdam . After his return he was promoted to prime lieutenant on April 14, 1841 and on April 19, 1846 to captain and company commander . Then he came on May 11, 1852 as a major in the 2nd Guards Landwehr Regiment, where he became 2nd Commander of the 2nd Battalion in Magdeburg . He came on June 7, 1855 in the Guard Fusilier Regiment , where he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on April 9, 1857 . On May 22nd, 1858 he became 2nd in command of the 1st Battalion of the 2nd Guards Landwehr Regiment in Berlin. On September 18, 1858, he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 3rd class with ribbon . On May 31, 1859 he was promoted to colonel and came as a commander in the Leib-Infanterie-Regiment (No. 8) . As early as May 19, 1863, he was commissioned with the command of the 24th Infantry Brigade and placed à la suite of the Leib Infantry Regiment. He was made major general on September 22, 1863 and confirmed as the brigade commander. Awarded the Order of the Red Eagle 2nd Class with Oak Leaves on December 31, 1864 , he came to the fortress of Breslau on April 3, 1866 as commandant, and on September 20, 1866 he was appointed lieutenant general. He died a short time later on July 10, 1868 in Breslau.

family

He married on December 29, 1842 in Altwasser Cäcilie Auguste Charlotte von Mutius (* September 7, 1818, † November 8, 1848). The daughter Sophie (born January 18, 1846) married on July 23, 1870 the later General Klaus Melchior Wilhelm of the ceiling (1832-1904).

After the death of his first wife, he married Maria Karoline Elisabeth von Reyher (born January 26, 1828 - April 30, 1896), a daughter of the Chief of the General Staff Karl von Reyher, on May 25, 1856 in Berlin .
