Hermann Gross (politician)

Hermann Gross (born December 6, 1919 in Eberbach ; † March 16, 2005 ) was a German administrative employee and politician ( SPD ). From 1960 to 1976 Gross was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg (MdL).

Life

After attending secondary school ( high school ) and the completion of a commercial apprenticeship initially Hermann Gross worked as a clerk, but had since 1939 his Reichsarbeitsdienst and then his military service in the air signal corps afford and came towards the end of World War II in captivity . After his return, he initially worked as an administrative clerk and passed his senior service exam in 1951 .

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 1960 for the 3rd electoral period (1960–1964) of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, Gross was able to win the direct mandate in the state electoral district of Calw. In the following state election in Baden-Württemberg in 1964 for the 4th electoral period (1964–1968) he was unable to defend his direct mandate, but moved into the state parliament via the second mandate of the Calw state constituency. In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 1968 for the 5th electoral period (1968–1972) and the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 1972 for the 6th electoral period (1972–1976), just as in 1964, he did not achieve the necessary votes for the direct mandate and went over again the second mandate in the state parliament. Between 1968 and 1972 he acted as deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the state parliament and was also mayor of the municipality of Birkenfeld from 1955 to 1978 .

In 1971 Hermann Gross was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany and in 1986 he was presented with the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg .
