Hermann Lahmann

Hermann Johannes Emil Lahmann (born June 1, 1905 in Hamburg ; † January 4, 2001 in Leipzig ) was a German organ builder in Leipzig.

Life

Hermann Lahmann learned organ building from Paul Rother in Hamburg and worked there from 1925 to 1928. Then he went to Jehmlich in Dresden and worked in Switzerland for Kuhn , Willisau and Goll . In 1936 Hermann Lahmann became plant manager at Willisau, in 1939 at Metzler , and in 1941 at Jehmlich. In 1942 he passed the master craftsman examination. Hermann Lahmann was operations manager at Eule in Bautzen from 1943 and then headed a branch of Jehmlich in Leipzig from 1947. In 1955 he started his own business there and worked at Nordplatz 9 until 1987.

Hermann Lahmann built some organs in Saxony and carried out modifications and repairs, some work also in the Soviet Union .
