Hermann Pralle

Hermann Gerhard Pralle (born September 30, 1863 in Oldenburg ; † May 11, 1939 in Bochum ) was a German administrative lawyer who mostly served the government of the Principality of Birkenfeld in the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg . From December 1917 to 1919 he was the provisional district president of the region.

life and career

The son of the pastor Johann Bernhard August Pralle (1824–1896) and Luise Sophie Henriette born. Bronken (Brunken) attended the old grammar school in Oldenburg and studied law and economics at the universities of Freiburg and Berlin from 1885 to 1888 . After passing the two state examinations, he entered the Oldenburg state service in 1895 and initially worked as an auditor at the Friesoythe district court .

In 1896 he became a laborer in the government of the Principality of Birkenfeld, an exclave of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg . Then he worked for the offices of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst .

In 1904 he was again transferred to the government in Birkenfeld and promoted to the government council. After the sudden death of the Birkenfeld district president Wilhelm Friedrich Willich , Pralle was commissioned to take over the business on a temporary basis in December 1917. In January 1918 he was appointed to the senior government council.

The Oldenburg state government, which at the time was conducting exchange negotiations with Prussia because of the Principality of Birkenfeld, left Pralle in his position until the end of the First World War . The Principality of Birkenfeld, known as the Birkenfeld region after the First World War , was occupied by French troops in 1919 as part of the Allied occupation of the Rhineland . The French military government, which after 1918 sought to establish buffer states in the Rhineland , relieved Pralle of his office on June 7, 1919 for relatively trivial reasons. He was succeeded by Konrad Hartong, who was also acting on a temporary basis. Pralle returned to Oldenburg and in April 1920 switched to the Reichsdienst as a provisional senior councilor for the President of the State Finance Office in Oldenburg. He retired in December 1928.

Pralle was married to Irmgard born in 1927. Kurlbaum, the marriage remained childless.
