Hermsdorf is a district of the Münchehofe community in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg .
Geographical location
The district is north of the community center. It borders in the north on the district of Prieros von Storkow (Mark) , in the west on Groß Köris and in the east on Kehrigk .
history
Not much has been passed on about the history of Hermsdorf. In a local chronicle published for the 600th anniversary of Münchehofe in 2006, Franz Müller and Ralf Irmscher reported that the region was colonized by Germanic peoples, but there was no direct find in the Hermsdorf district . The same applies to the subsequent settlement by Slavs . According to a publication by NABU , Hermsdorf is said to have been mentioned in a document for the first time in 1448. Another mention can be found in 1692, when a Hans Ernst von Langen left his feudal claims from Hermsdorf to an Ulrich Gottfried von Wolfersdorf . In 1701 Münchehofe came into the possession of Heinrich Wilhelm von Goertz, a colonel in a Swedish dragoon regiment . He wanted to enlarge his seat and bought Hermsdorf for 16,000 thalers . During the First Silesian War , the population had to take care of soldiers for the Duke of Braunschweig. The privations of the population led to the mayors cordoning off their towns, including Hermsdorf, during the Second Silesian War . It was looted a short time later during the Seven Years' War by Austrian and Russian troops. The existence of a school has been handed down from the 19th century. During the Second World War , Hermsdorf was affected by fighting in the Halbe pocket. Contemporary witnesses report about 2,000 wounded who had to be cared for in the village - many of them in a rural school home in Hermsdorf-Mühle.
Sightseeing
A memorial on Dorfstrasse commemorates those who died in the First and Second World Wars . In 2019, a statue of Saint Florian created by the Austrian artist Wolfgang Georgsdorf was erected and inaugurated at the volunteer fire department. A memorial stone of the poet and writer Richard Dehmel is in the immediate vicinity.
Economy and infrastructure, clubs
Hermsdorf is connected to the hamlet of Hermsdorfer Mühle in a westerly direction via Mühlenweg and to Münchehofe via Hermsdorfer Straße . In a southerly direction, the Dorfstraße leads towards Märkisch Buchholz .
A village club, an equestrian regulars table and a support association of the volunteer fire brigade are active in the district.
