Prieros ( Lower Sorbian Pśerowc ) is a district of the non-governmental municipality Heidesee in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg . Until October 26, 2003 Prieros was an independent municipality. The village is on the Dahme .

history

Prieros was first mentioned in documents in 1314 and emerged from a Slavic settlement on the Schadlischka mountain. The fishing and farming village, which later grew around a village floodplain, has been a destination for excursions and holidays since the beginning of the 20th century and extends along the waters of Dahme, Schmölde , Langer See , Streganzer See and Tiefer See.

Around 1920 the Berlin cloth merchant Vogel had a villa built on Streganzer See. From 1954 to 1959 it served Wilhelm Pieck , the then President of the GDR, as a summer residence. Today the main building of the Hotel Waldhaus Prieros is located there, with the historically preserved and restored “Pieck room” as a conference room.

In 1935 the “Reichsseesportschule Gorch Fock ” of the Marine HJ was opened in Prieros as the first of its kind.

In 1992 it merged with eleven other communities to form the Friedersdorf office . Since October 26, 2003, Prieros with its approx. 1000 inhabitants a district of the municipality of Heidesee.

The townscape is characterized by the village meadow with its old trees with the oldest house ( half-timbered house, 18th century - museum "Heimathaus"), the church and the old school (nature conservation center and seat of the nature park administration of the Dahme-Heideseen nature park ). From the village meadow you can get to the Dahme with its ship landing stage and harbor.

The culturally interesting places and sights include the home town hall and the church, the organic garden, the botanical garden and the Prieros lock. Zuchthof Dree Böken, already in the German Democratic Republic as part of VE Kombinat Tierzucht (since 1988) a renowned breeding company for trotters , is considered one of the most beautiful such facilities in Brandenburg and is now home to a Hanoverian breed .

In the immediate vicinity there are other destinations such as the Haus des Waldes in Gräbendorf and the Groß Schauener chain of lakes with its observation tower and fishing museum.
