Sadkowo (Tychowo)

Sadkowo (German name Zadtkow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Tychowo ( Groß Tychow ) in the Białogard ( Belgard ) district.

Geographical location

Sadkowo is located six kilometers southwest of Tychowo on the Voivodeship Road No. 167 Koszalin ( Köslin ) -Tychowo - Ogartowo ( Jagertow ) (- Połczyn-Zdrój ( Bad Polzin )). The nearest train station is Tychowo on the Szczecinek – Kołobrzeg railway line .

history

In 1628 Zadtkow is mentioned in a document as belonging to von Kleist , who was later divided between two family members. In 1841 Karl Ludwig August Franz von der Osten became the sole owner on Plathe (now Polish: Płoty).

The Augustenhof (Liśnica) and Carolinenhof farms belonged to the community . In 1866 there were 16 houses and 26 farm buildings in the manor district , 31 houses, one factory and 26 farm buildings in the rural community.

In 1939 there were 646 inhabitants in 158 households in the 1425.1 hectare community. The majority of the population worked in agriculture.

In the village there was a blacksmith's shop, two wheelwright shops, a carpentry shop, a butcher's shop, two shoemakers and two tailor shops. Groceries and haberdashery were also offered in the village restaurant. In addition, there was a construction business and a timber transport company in Zadtkow.

The rural community Zadtkow existed since 1928 through the amalgamation of the estate and community district. The last German mayor before 1945 was Walter Priebe. The competent registry office was in Muttrin (Motarzyn), the Belgard district court . The nearest police station was in Damen (Stare Dębno).

In early March 1945 Russian troops entered the village. The place became Polish as a result of the war . The last German residents were expelled by 1948 . Today Zadtkow as Sadkowo is part of Gmina Tychowo in the powiat Białogardzki.

District Zadtkow

Zadtkow formed its own administrative district in the district of Belgard (Persante) until 1945 , which included the municipality of Damen (Stare Dębno), Döbel (Doble), Kieckow (Kikowo), Muttrin (Motarzyn) and Zadtkow. The last German head of office was Friedrich Wilhelm Fink.
