Ogartowo ( German  Jagertow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It is located in the Powiat Świdwiński and belongs to the urban and rural municipality Połczyn-Zdrój (Bad Polzin) .

Geographical location

Ogartowo borders directly on the eastern outskirts of Połczyn-Zdrój and is located at the junction of Voivodship Road 167 from Voivodeship Road 172 to Szczecinek (Neustettin) between the rivers Dębnica (Damitz) and Wugger . The Feldmark is cut by the now disused railway line Grzmiąca – Kostrzyn . The nearest train station is Kołacz (Kollatz) , one kilometer away.

history

The former estate and farming village of Jagertow in "Pomeranian Switzerland" was the fief of the Glasenapp family in 1628 , who transferred it to the Krockow family . In 1867 the Bauk family, who received it from the von Manteuffel family, are named as owners .

At that time there were 326 inhabitants in 34 households in the municipality, in 1939 there were only 235 inhabitants in 58 households - with a municipality area of ​​697 hectares (1932).

Until 1828 Jagertow belonged to the district of Neustettin , which administered it in communion with the Belgard district. After that, the village was assigned to the Belgard (Persante) district alone.

Until 1945 Jagertow belonged to the district and registry office district Kollatz and to the district court area Bad Polzin . The last German incumbents were Mayor Artur Elert, Mayor Albert Zamzow and registrar Artur Zaske. The police duties were incumbent on Landjägermeister Kollesch, who was stationed in Jagertow.

In the first days of March 1945, Red Army troops occupied the village. The property of citizens was taken by the Poles in possession, people were out of the place sold .

Jagertow belonged to the parish of the Marienkirche Bad Polzin until 1945 , which together with the daughter parishes Lutzig and Buslar formed the parish of Bad Polzin with finally 10,700 parishioners and two pastors. The pastor of the first parish office looked after the outer villages.

The parish Bad Polzin belonged to the parish of Belgard in the ecclesiastical province of Pomerania of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Ogartowo belongs to the Parafia Koszalin (Köslin) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church .

school

A school already existed in Jagertow in 1865, which often had to be rebuilt. A new school was built in 1924/25. The last German teacher was Wilhelm Ristow.

The school building has been used for residential purposes since 1984. The school location today is Połczyn-Zdrój, four kilometers away.
