Szeligowo ( German  Seeligsfelde , 1937-1945: Eichenfelde ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community Połczyn-Zdrój (Bad Polzin) in the powiat Świdwiński .

Geographical location

Szeligowo is located on the northern edge of Pomeranian Switzerland in Western Pomerania , about ten kilometers south of Połczyn-Zdrój , and can be reached via Redło (Redel) on the Świdwin - Połczyn-Zdrój road. The closest train station was until the closure of the Cieszeniewo (Ziezeneff) line on the Świdwin - Połczyn-Zdrój line .

Surname

Until December 29, 1937, the community carried the name Seeligsfelde. It was named after a Jewish owner named Seeligsohn. It was left to the National Socialist ideologues to rename the village Eichenfelde. That was the name of the village until 1945.

history

The founding of the village of Seeligsfelde goes back to the years 1841 to 1845, when lands were separated and settled by the Zuchen manor . In 1843 the newly formed community already had 381 inhabitants, and this number rose to 556 by 1861. In 1939, a total of 284 people lived in the 431.6 hectare community, the vast majority of whom worked in agriculture and forestry. Livestock husbandry was of particular importance here.

A blacksmith's shop, carpentry, carpentry, roofing, bricklaying and tailoring business existed as handicraft businesses. Between 1918 and 1945, Albert Piske, Max Dallmann, Ewald Steffen and Paul Bärwald were mayors of Seeligsfelde or Eichenfelde.

Before 1945, Seeligsfelde belonged to the Redel district in the Belgard (Persante) district . The registry office matters were regulated from Reinfeld . The responsible district court was that in Bad Polzin , and Oberlandjäger Bahr from Brunow was the police officer .

At the beginning of March 1945 Eichenfelde was occupied by Russian troops and then placed under Polish administration. The immigration of Poles and Ukrainians from areas east of the Curzon Line began . The expulsion of the German population due to the Bierut decrees took place between 1946 and 1947.

Today Szeligowo is part of the Gmina Połczyn-Zdrój (Bad Polzin) in the powiat Świdwiński (Schivelbein) .

Until 1945, Seeligsfelde or Eichenfelde belonged to the parish of Zuchen (now in Polish Sucha ), which was a branch parish in the parish of Ziezeneff . It belonged to the church district Schivelbein in the church province of Pomerania of the Protestant church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Paul Blank.

Today Szeligowo belongs to the parish Koszalin (Köslin) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church .
