Zajączkowo ( German  Alt Sanskow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the urban and rural municipality Połczyn-Zdrój (Bad Polzin) and is located in the powiat Świdwiński .

Geographical location

Zajączkowo is located six kilometers southwest of Połczyn-Zdrój and was a train station on the Połczyn-Zdrój – Złocieniec ( Falkenburg ) railway line until 1991 . Not far away is Międzyborze, known as the "Luisenbad" .

history

The lands in Alt Sanskow were managed by a manor until 1855. After that, the usable agricultural area was distributed over 62 farms. In 1867, 117 scattered buildings were counted, including 54 residential buildings. In 1939 the population was 275 with 69 households.

Alt Sanskow once also included parts of the divided manor district Althütten (Dobino) . This shifted the eastern municipal boundary.

Until 1945 Alt Sanskow was in the district of Belgard (Persante) and belonged to the district of Bramstädt . The last head of office in German times was Georg Klix. Alt Sanskow had its own registry office, which was last headed by Friedrich Bock and Georg Witte. The district court area was Bad Polzin, the police supervision was exercised by the Oberlandjäger from Bramstädt.

At the beginning of March 1945 the village was taken by the Red Army . With the expulsion of the German population, the immigration of Polish resettlers began. Today Zajączkowo belongs to the urban and rural community Połczyn-Zdrój in the powiat Świdwiński (Schivelbein) .

Alt Sanskow was an independent school location and had its own school building as early as 1867. The last headmaster before 1945 was Friedrich Bock.

Alt Sanskow belonged to the Marienkirche community Bad Polzin and thus to the parish of Belgard ( Białogard ) of the ecclesiastical province of Pomerania in the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Zająkowo belongs to the parish Koszalin (Köslin) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
