Local history

Mandelatz Manor, around 1930

Mandelatz, which was still called Mandelatzke in the 18th century , was partly connected to the town of Burzlaff (today in Polish: Borzysław) through ownership and was owned by the von Kleist family . In 1719 it was sold to the von Versen family , but shortly afterwards it was bought back by the Kleist sons. The owners later changed again, and in 1867 the von Versen family was named again. In 1886 or 1887, the Mandelatz A. estate - previously owned by the von Versen-Burzlaff family - was auctioned off in court. The last owner before 1945 was henceforth the Haeger family (Reinhard Haeger was district leader of the NSDAP and worked for the Reichsnährstand in Stettin - he died of leukemia in October 1936).

The Vorwerk Kiefheide (Podborsko) belonged to the village of Mandelatz . Its train station made it an important part of local and long-distance passenger transport.

Besides the estate (327 hectares ) there was only one farm in Mandelatz. In 1867 there were 112 inhabitants in Mandelatz and Kiefheide.

There were only a few more - 136 - in 1939. At that time, the 1158.7 hectare community Mandelatz belonged to the Burzlaff (Borzysław) district in the Belgard (Persante) district . The seat of the registry office was Buckow (Bukowo), while the competent local court was in Belgard . Police power lay with the Oberlandjäger in Groß Tychow (Tychowo).

In early March 1945, Red Army troops occupied the place, and as a result of the war , the German population was expelled until the end of 1946 . Mandelatz became a district of Gmina Tychowo in the powiat Białogardzki under the name Modrolas .

church

Mandelatz did not have its own church. The village was parish up to 1945 in the parish Neu Buckow (Bukówko) in the parish Groß Tychow and was in the parish of Belgard in the church province of Pomerania of the Protestant Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Modrolas belongs to the parish Koszalin (Köslin) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
